Performances
Through three major annual productions, members will have opportunities to discover their talents on-stage and behind the scenes. What is special about us is that we don't focus too much on performing existing plays. Instead, we encourage our members to use their creativity to design their characters and plots. In the end, we would combine these creative ideas and bring them on stage as a complete play.
This page presents a few major productions of our club.
Black Night
BlackNight is an annual tradition we initiated in 2023. The name "Black Night" refers to social issues often overlooked in the "darkness." By inviting the audience to a "Night" of immersive experience in one particular life theme, we aim to portray contemporary society and express the most authentic voices of our members to the audience.

Each year, our club leaders select and draft the main theme, plot, and characters of the play. Members then will contribute their reflections on related topics to develop their own characters, learning scriptwriting in the process. Once the script is complete, club leaders will guide members in self-directing for the performances or on backstage managements.
2024 BlackNight_Adolescents
BlackNight_Adolescent is a 2-hour long show with 2 acts and 16 scenes that was launched in March 2024. In the performance, we explored related topics of bullying, body/facial dysmorphia, social media anxiety, LGBTQ+, and relationships (friendship/romance).

The Goes Wrong Shows
This series of comedic shows is launched toward the end of the school year, relaxing students and allowing them to embrace the upcoming summer in a good mood.

We use famous scripts, stories, and fairytales to rewrite a "goes-wrong" version of the play in different settings.
2024 Titanic - The Goes Wrong Audition
The first original comedic production of the club. The humor of the show lies in the fact that none of the actors came to the audition are "real" actors. From someone with a fear of water and a boat constructor as Jack to a Vietnam soldier as Rose, the entire set is a total "disaster."

Selected Scripts
Although we do focus mainly on original productions, the club leaders also carefully choose existing scripts that allow members to see a unique part of the world they may not encounter.
These performances are rather spread-out, launched during the non-busy periods of the club (when there's no original productions going).
2023 Hospital Food by Eugene O'Hare
This play was chosen to understand perspectives of children
with cancer and explore what friendship means when one’s life is approaching its end.
